Through June and July in Appalachia, the Rhododendrons start to flower.  It is incredible to walk through the dense forest and see such delicate, decadent blooms.  This is an original 9" x 12" oil pastel drawing showing the early stages of those beautiful blooms with playful overlapping in the shapes of the leaves.
