EXPERIENCE

2022 - Present Advisory & Curatorial Assistant — ArtStager Corp, Los Angeles, CA

Acting as artist liaison for represented artists. Creating artwork proposals within budget for clients. Aiding in sourcing local, national, and internationally renowned works of art for public and private collections. Corresponding with art galleries internationally to coordinate artwork sales and shipping. Managing ArtStager exhibitions, online presence and market.

2021 - 2023 Arts Education Coordinator — Huntington Beach Art Center, Huntington Beach, CA

Developing and implementing educational art programs, employing a variety of pedagogies and techniques to reach diverse communities. Overseeing a studio program to present educational programs in both technical and conceptual art skills, which includes managing contract classes, demonstrations, and workshops. Developing outreach programs and projects. Coordinating annual “Family Arts Day” event and grant funded educational programs. Assisting in developing budget for assigned programs.

2020 - 2022 Research Assistant — Baribeau Consulting, New York, NY

Research Assistant to an independent arts fundraiser and organizational development advisor. Working as a consultant to conduct grant research, prepare templates, and draft grant language for projects at the intersection of the arts and social justice. Aiding to support artists and arts institutions in their roles as cultural leaders by researching contemporary artists and arts non-profits, and providing organizational assistance to Baribeau Consulting.

2018 - 2021 Art Instructor — Orange County Children’s Therapeutic Arts Center, Santa Ana, CA

Provided innovative and educational after-school arts classes for at-risk and underprivileged youth within the Santa Ana Unified School District.  Taught young artists about the artistic practices of Contemporary Masters while implementing VAPA and Common Core standards.  Reinforced students with PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports).

2020 - 2021 Arts Preparator — Laguna Art Museum, Laguna Beach, CA

Building, installing, and de-installng Museum exhibitions. Delivering and receiving artworks on loan, as well as from the Museum’s Permanent Collection. Aiding Registrar and Collections Manager in documenting each object in the Museum’s collection. Assisting Museum Conservator in updating condition reports of works in current exhibitions. Competently handling, and archivally wrapping and packing, works of art for exhibition, travel, and storage.

2016 - 2017   Community Artist in Residence — The Bascom: A Center for the Visual Arts, Highlands, NC

Lead Teacher and Lecturer within a regional Community Outreach Department. Taught a range of age groups, including: preschool, elementary, middle, and high school; higher education; adult continuing education; and older adults. Maintained classroom supplies inventory. Curated Youth Gallery exhibits. Served as museum docent. Planned and instructed over 160 lessons for diverse audiences with 30 regional nonprofits and community groups in a 35 mile radius.  Increased Outreach program attendance from 1,400 to 3,400 in a 1-year period.

2016      Gallery Attendant / Docent — Asheville Art Museum, Asheville, NC

Represented museum to the public, providing hospitality and customer service for exhibitions and special events. Monitored gallery humidity and temperature control and adhered to secure opening and closing procedures.

2014      After-School Arts Teacher — CityArts, Providence, RI

Partnered with CityArts non-profit in their mission to provide free art classes for limited-opportunity youth. Crafted lessons and classroom management plans for a variety of interactive, multi-media art classes with youth aged 6-10.  

2014      Andrew W. Mellon Education Intern — Rhode Island School of Design Museum, Providence, RI

Researched ways to broaden the Museums accessibility for K-12 ESL/ELL learners and their families.  Developed Museum programs based on Project Based Learning and Visual Thinking Strategies. Expanded Museum partnerships through outreach and provided valuable research about local demographics and Museum accessibility for minority groups. Presented culmination of research to Museum staff across all departments. 

2013 - 2015   Teaching Assistant — Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI

Provided drawing and painting instruction and critique in various Foundation courses at Rhode Island School of Design. Duties also included studio setup and maintenance and assistance in administering grades. Advised students through an in-depth knowledge of painting and drawing materials, mediums, techniques, and building painting supports. Attained a working knowledge of woodworking machines and studio safety procedures.

2013 - 2015   Gallery Assistant, The Tap Room — Providence, RI

Provided information about exhibitions and exhibiting artists to visitors.  Installed and deinstalled artwork.  Attended and made preparations for gallery openings and receptions.

2012      CoachArt Art Teacher — Children’s Hospital, Orange County and Miller Children’s Hospital, Long Beach, CA

Provided free art lessons to chronic and terminally ill children through in-hospital workshops. Created lesson plans adapted for a diverse audience with varied physical and mental capabilities.
